Pressure

In five days my husband runs out of work. On the one hand this will give me much more uninterrupted time to work, with no school runs and a real chance of producing something worthwhile.

On the other hand it means we could lose everything, so I am also looking at article writing and greetings cards and any other sort of possible fast cash - barring prostitution...

It will be interesting to see if the result of this extra pressure will be good or bad writing. Sometimes a deadline can really help me to focus on what I am doing, so we shall see.

In the meantime Harrogate looks like a definite no.

  1. What work does your husband do...if that is not too nosey to ask?

  2. Sorry to hear that Sarah. These kind of stories are happening all over the place, aren't they? I have a friend who has just been made redundant and he and his wife just had baby no 2. Pressure, indeed.

Shame about Harrogate too - hopefully things pick up and you can make it! Fingers crossed for you.

Love the new blog by the way! I've added you to my blogroll.

  3. I'd better not say, Steve! He might not appreciate it. It's not like he has lost his job or anything - the work will come back eventually but in the meantime it could be bleak. Hazards of self-employment. It's not quite as bad as it looked yesterday - he has a couple of things happening now which take us a little bit further - we have about a two or three week reprieve. Hopefully it will be long enough for the next big project to come in.

January and February are always hard months anyway...

Daryl - thanks! I'm going to sort out my links at some point - just haven't had time yet!
